Album Description

Sean Rowe arrives with a bag full of evocative songs that marry his soulful voice to gorgeous spacial soundscapes. Purveying a wide range of emotions, the album is filled with life’s most sad and joyful moments sung in a weighty, world-weary tone. Production ranges from spare ambient guitar to scintillating strings, coupled with intuitive female harmony vocals and tasteful as-needed percussion.

Magic was recorded at Collar City Sound in Troy, NY by Troy Pohl (The Kamikaze Hearts) in 2008. Along with Troy’s multiple contributions on guitars, keyboards and more, special guests were called in from all over the Capital Region musical map; Monica Wilson-Roach played cello, Adrian Cohen added piano, Danny Whelchel, Matthew Loiacono and Nic Fera rattled the drums, Clarke Foley bowed the upright bass and Cara-May Gorman sang some beautiful background
vocals.
